More Than 100 GOP Representatives To Object To Certification of Presidential Election Results

More than 100 GOP lawmakers from the House of Representatives are about to object to the certification of the presidential election results on Wednesday.

There are more than 100 Republican representatives that reportedly expressed support to Sen. Ted Cruz and other GOP senators who plan to object to the presidential election results' certification.

GOP Representatives To Object Certification of Presidential Election Results

Lawmakers from the House of Representatives are about to certify the recent presidential election results on Jan. 6. However, more than 100 Republican representatives are about to object to the certification due to the alleged fraud.

According to a recently published report in FOX News, among the Republican representatives who would object to the certification of election results in at least one state are Reps. Jim Jordan, Mo Brooks, and Elise Stefanik.

FOX News has learned that Republican Reps. Jody Hice, Matt Gaetz, Scott Perry, Guy Reschenthaler, Paul Gosar, Andy Biggs, Lauren Boebert, Debbie Lesko, Louie Gohmert, among others, will also object during the joint session on Wednesday.

It is still unclear which states and how many exactly of these Republican lawmakers are going to object in every electoral state. But two House Republican officials said on Sunday that more than 100 lawmakers were going to object to the election results in Arizona, Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Wisconsin.

GOP Representatives Released Statements of Support

Stefanik already announced on Monday her plans to object to "certain contested electors."

The Republican lawmaker said: "I do not take this action lightly. I am acting to protect our democratic process. Article II and the Twelfth Amendment of the Constitution make clear that I have an obligation to act on this matter if I believe there are serious questions with respect to the Presidential election."

She further noted that millions of Americans and those who voted are rightly concerned that the 2020 election featured unprecedented voting irregularities, a fundamental lack of ballot integrity and security, unconstitutional overreach by unelected state officials and judges ignoring state election laws.

Stefanik asserted that as a member of Congress, she is "committed to restoring the faith of the American people in our elections - that they are free, fair, secure, and according to the United States Constitution."

Meanwhile, there are Republican lawmakers like Rep. Chip Roy of Texas, Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Tom McClintock of California, Ken Buck of Colorado, Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin, Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota, and freshman Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina, who have taken issue with efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential race results and are seeking to protect the Electoral College.

Rep. Chip Roy wrote on his social media account that he is as outraged as anyone on "the still-unanswered questions about the election."

But he noted that the "Constitution is clear: States select electors. Congress does not. There is only one path to victory for @POTUS on Jan. 6: state legislatures certifying Trump electors in states at issue."
