Country singer Hank Williams Jr. suffered another loss after his long-time wife, Mary Jane Thomas, died at the age of 58 in Florida this week.

A family member of Thomas and Williams confirmed to TMZ that the country singer's wife died on Tuesday in Jupiter, Florida.

According to The Daily Mail, police officers from Jupiter County responded at the Jupiter Beach Resort and Spa around 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The said resort and spa is located north of Palm Beach and offers rooms averaging more than $300. The said spa was reportedly closed "until further notice" as of Wednesday.

Thomas was reportedly taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, per Metro.

A source told TMZ that Thomas' death came when she suffered a complication following a medical procedure. The outlet furthered that the singer's wife may have experienced a blood clot.

However, it was unclear when and where the medical procedure was performed. Furthermore, details about what kind of surgery Thomas underwent were not available at this time.

Hank Williams Jr. and Wife, Mary Jane Thomas

Mary Jane Thomas and Hank Williams Jr. met in 1985, at one of the country singer's concerts in Washington State, according to TMZ.

The two tied the knot in 1990 and had two children named Katherine Williams-Dunning and Samuel Williams. The two separated in 2007. However, they saved their marriage, having fully reconciled in 2011 when they celebrated their 21st anniversary.

Thomas' death in Florida is the latest heartbreak of the country singer's family. According to The Daily Mail, their daughter Katherine died in a car collision in Tennessee in 2020. Her husband, Tyler Dunning, survived the crash after he was airlifted to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

Mary Jane Thomas was Hank Williams Jr.'s third wife. It can be recalled that the country singer was first married to Gwen Yeargin from 1971 to 1977. He also married Becky White from 1977 to 1983.
