Vice President Kamala Harris has declared that she will run again with U.S. President Joe Biden on his 2024 re-election bid.

Daily Mail reported that the vice president said that people are "going to demand justice," adding that they would "rightly be doing so."

The future of Harris and Biden's re-election bid in 2024 would come once the Justice Department charges former U.S. President Donald Trump on grounds of mishandling classified documents once its investigation proved that the former president violated federal law. However, political experts noted that it is "highly unlikely" that federal charges will be a hurdle for Trump launching a campaign.

Harris had later on said that she would not "dare tell the Department of Justice what to do." She added that they know best the facts and the evidence "as applied to the law."

U.S. President Joe Biden 2024 Re-election Bid

President Joe Biden has faced several questions from both elected officials and base voters who are Democrats, asking whether the president should run for another term in the office.

The president said that he plans to run for re-election in 2024 if his health allows him to. Biden would be 82 at the time of his second inauguration in January 25 if he were to launch his re-election bid and win the election in 2024, according to a Business Insider report.

There is also the possibility that Biden would be facing Trump once again in 2024. He defeated the former president in the 2020 election.

Vice President Kamala Harris discussed the re-election run possibility in an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press" with host Chuck Todd.

It was reported that Biden is preparing to launch his 2024 campaign shortly after the midterm elections. However, some believe that it is time for "generational change" in leadership, as stated by Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan. Ryan is currently in a close race with Republican JD Vance for Ohio's open Senate seat.

Ryan said in a Yahoo News report that he thinks the environment politically across the nation "is poisonous" and that people "want some change." He also noted that he is campaigning as an "independent" and has agreed with Trump when it comes to some trade and defense issues.

However, Ryan clarified that is not asking anyone, including the U.S. president, to campaign for him.

On the other hand, he said that he agrees with Biden on semiconductor chips and infrastructure, but does not think he is being "tough enough" on China.

Donald Trump on 2024 Election

More than six in 10 Americans do not want Trump to run in 2024, according to a PBS NewsHour report.

Director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, Lee Miringoff, said that the only good thing for the former president is that his "numbers don't drop." However, it only comprises about a "third of the electorate who are in his corner." He added that it is not a great place to start an election campaign.

The poll found that only 28% of independents believe Trump should run again while two-thirds said that the former president should opt out of the 2024 election.
