Puerto Rican music superstar Bad Bunny may now have already moved on with a new relationship, supposedly dating Kendall Jenner. However, he is now getting sued for $40 million by his ex-girlfriend Carliz De La Cruz Hernandez.

According to Be Latina, De La Cruz Hernandez is suing the rapper for his repeated use of her voice in his music, as he often uses the phrase "Bad Bunny, baby," as his songs' intro. He uses the phrase to often foreshadow what should be a banger.

De La Cruz Hernandez has a sultry voice, and she uses it in her ex-fiance's intro. She said those words after the Puerto Rican rapper, whose real name is Benito Martinez Ocasio, requested her to record her voice on her phone and send it to him.

However, this was before he became the music megastar that he is right now, as this happened way back in 2015 when he was still struggling to make a name for himself. The line was first used in the intro for the song "Pa Ti."

Carliz De La Cruz Hernandez Claims Bad Bunny Is Using Her Voice Without Her Consent

Carliz De La Cruz Hernandez had the longest and most serious romantic relationship with Bad Bunny, as they dated for five years, from 2012 to 2017, and were even engaged at one point. She has now moved on and is a practicing lawyer now, and it seems she is putting her legal knowledge to sue her ex.

According to the lawsuit, the rapper uses his ex's "distinguishable voice" in his songs, records, promotions, worldwide concerts, television, radio, and social and musical platforms without her consent.

"Since then, thousands of people have commented directly on Carliz's social media networks, as well as every time she goes to a public place, about the 'Bad Bunny, baby.' This has caused, and currently causes, that De La Cruz feels worried, anguished, intimidated, overwhelmed and anxious," stated the lawsuit,

The Associated Press reported that she also sued Bad Bunny's manager, Noah Kamil Assad Byrne.

Bad Bunny Offered to Buy the Recording of Carliz De La Cruz Hernandez's Voice

The breakup between the former couple has been so bad that Bad Bunny has often referred to as Voldemort in front of De La Cruz Hernandez, as the Harry Potter Villain was known in the books as "He Who Must Not Be Named."

This was evident when Bad Bunny reportedly tried to buy that recording of the lawyer's voice. A representative for Bad Bunny reached out to De la Cruz Hernandez and told her, "I know you don't like to talk about Voldemort, but I need to ask you something."

According to The Guardian, she was offered $2,000 for that recording, but she declined. Someone from Rimas Music also reached out to offer to buy it, saying it could be used in the upcoming album "Un Verano Sin Ti." but a deal was never reached, per the lawsuit.

This means that the songs with her voice have been published without her consent, leading to the lawsuit.
