Root Applied Sciences Announces a Senior Appointment in Sergio Comparini, a Native of Chile

Root Applied Sciences, a company that leverages sophisticated diagnostic methodologies to detect the presence of pathogens in crops at an early stage, has announced the appointment of one of South America's leading figures in AgTech, Sergio Comparini, for a hands-on role on its executive advisory board.
Comparini is one of the most experienced managers in the world when it comes to developing market potential in agriculture.
His former roles as Global Product Manager with Bayer Crop Science (Monheim, Germany), Global Business Development Manager at Gowan Company LLC, and as their South American Regional Manager have all yielded huge successes for the companies. As General Manager of ANASAC Colombia, a Chilean crop protection company, Comparini grew revenue almost three times in five years, in part by spearheading an R&D program with innovative solutions targeted to key Colombian crops with a strong distributor network. He is also an entrepreneur in fruit nursery and fresh berries fruit production as founder and partner in a 15-hectare greenhouse farm in Colombia.
Currently, Comparini is the CEO of Plasma Water Solutions Inc. (PWS), which has patented breakthrough low-temperature plasma technology that generates Plasma-ized Water™ using just water and electricity. Similarly, to Root, Plasma is empowering farmers to cultivate more sustainable crops, and it is this breadth of experience and expertise that Sarah Placella, CEO and founder of Root, is excited about accessing as she expands her company's prominence on a global stage.
Root, which is based in the United States, has established itself as a leader in precision agriculture after years of research and development, and has a deep understanding of the agricultural sector's needs and sees Comparini's appointment as the next big step.
When asked about his new role, Sergio expressed his enthusiasm: "Root's science and technology could be amongst the most important of its generation for the sector. Their Precision Pathogen Monitoring service is a testament to the evolution of agricultural technology, focusing on the early detection and monitoring of pathogens to safeguard crop health, whilst offering a comprehensive solution to one of agriculture's most pressing challenges. What Sarah and her team are setting out to achieve is the most exciting thing I have seen for the last 10 years, and Root has an incredible opportunity to build out a new phase in the capabilities for sustainable crop growing."
