Juan Rivera has remained mum about his brother, Lupillo Rivera, for months, but he has broken his silence to ask something of him.

Juan doesn't want Lupillo to talk about his opinions on Jenni Rivera's book, noted People en Español.

"My brother was in a disagreement with Jenni because he didn't want his name to be mentioned for any reason," he said. "I don't know why. I imagine it's because he wants to write a book about his own life, and he wanted to be the first to talk about the events. I don't know."

Juan added that Lupillo was not part of the book "Inquebrantable."

The Riveras have also seen Lupillo side with Laura Lucio, who was Jenni's former friend. Lucio sued the Riveras for $10 million, saying that she mostly wrote the book.

"What I know about the contracts and everything else is little," he said. "Only what Rosie has told me. What I can say is that I am 100 percent sure, because I saw it and because I was there, was when Rosie translated the book my sister wrote from English to Spanish."

He said that Rosie would also call him up and try to get some insight on how Jenni would say certain phrases in Spanish.

Juan has not been on good terms with Lupillo in at least a year. Two months ago, Lupillo asked Juan to not mention him in interviews. According to Lupillo, things that Juan said could affect him.

"I told him, 'I give you my word and won't mention your name if you don't say something erroneous about my family," he said.

Juan explained that it is difficult living without his brother but that he knows he has to just keep pushing forward.

"Truthfully, [a reconciliation] would be very difficult," Juan said. "Not because I have anger toward my brother because truthfully, I don't. And it's not because I resent him. I am not going to let negative things affect me. If my sister's accident didn't unite us, well, it would have to be a very strong blow to get us together."
