Jim Carrey uploaded a photo of himself to the internet, teasing a sequel to the 1994 comedy film, Dumb & Dumber.

Carrey used his WhoSay account to upload a picture of himself with a chipped tooth, which is characteristic of Carrey's character in the film, the deranged Lloyd Christmas. He also put a link to the photo on his Twitter account.

"GESS HUUZ BAK BICHEZ?" the caption for the photo reads.

A fun fact is that Carrey, 51, actually chipped his tooth before filming Dumb & Dumber. He normally wears an end-cap but removed it for the movie.

The sequel, which will be called Dumb & Dumber To, has encountered a couple of obstacles on its road to production.

In June of this year, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Dumb & Dumber To was in-development with New Line Cinema. New Line Cinema's parent company, however, Warner Bros. dropped the movie.  As a result, brothers Peter and Bobby Farrelly, the writers and directors of the film, had to find a new company to finance and distribute the film.

Next on the Dumb & Dumber To obstacle course was a pair of messy lawsuits.

After Warner Bros. and New Line Cinemas dropped the sequel, the film was picked up by Red Granite Pictures and Universal. Red Granite Pictures then filed a lawsuit against Brad Krevoy and Steve Stabler, producers of the original Dumb & Dumber, in order to keep the two away from the sequel. According to the lawsuit, the producers no longer had contractual rights to the movie since Warner Bros. and New Line Cinemas dropped it.

As a countermove, Krevoy and Stabler filed a suit against Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz and Joey McFarland of Red Granite Pictures, citing breach of contract and an attempt to "squeeze out the plaintiffs."

"We are confident that the courts will support our position in the Dumb and Dumber To case," Red Granite Pictures said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.

The Farrelly brothers are the creators of the first Dumb & Dumber. The brothers also created Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd in 2003. The movie served as a prequel to Dumb & Dumber, showing main characters Harry, played by Jeff Daniels, and Lloyd's first encounters in high school in the 1980s.
