2K Sports has announced the return of the "Crew Mode" to the NBA 2K series after a few years without it. 2K said that it was the "single most-requested" game mode.

According to 2K Sports, the re-introduction of the Crew Mode means that you will be able to "Create your logo and face off in 5v5 battles with other crews featuring leaderboards and stats."

As it stands, the mode only applies to Xbox 360 and PS3 since the game will be released in the first week of October, over a month before the release of the new Xbox One and Playstation 4 game consoles.

"You can take your MyPLAYER through his career, build him up in the MyCAREER mode, and prep him for online battles," said Chris Manning, the Community Manager for 2K Sports. "Your gameday attire will be reflected on your MyPLAYER during matches.

"The focus of BALANCE this time around was a major emphasis," he added. "This year, in NBA 2K14, the gameplay is both smooth and the team did a phenomenal job of improving defense in every way."

2K Sports has been building up the excitement ahead of the October release to get the fans excited. LeBron James has been the game's main character in the promotion and marketing of the game. He is not only the cover athlete and the one used for all of the game's advertisements, but his name is even part of the "Path to Greatness" title. Through this mode, users will be able to control the outcome of his future.
