Since announcing her "Real Housewives of Atlanta" demotion from "permanent housewife" to "friend" via Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday, Porsha Williams is now revealing new information about her shocking status change on the hit Bravo series.

In a statement obtained by Us Weekly, the reality-TV star turned gossip reporter reveals that she was "blindsided" by Bravo's decision to give her less air-time on the show.

"After a long season of filming, and giving my all, I was blindsided by the announcement from the network that I was demoted from 'Housewife Status,' but would remain on the show in a 'Friend' capacity," she says. "Unfortunately, I can only be PORSHA, and portraying anything else would not be genuine nor honest," the statement reads.

Despite coping with the news of her smaller role on "RHOA," Williams explains that she looks forward to working on other projects that include her work as a gossip reporter on Dish Nation.

"This moment is bittersweet, but God has been so amazing to me, and I think this is the perfect time for me to spread my wings and finally focus on all of my upcoming projects," Williams continues her statement. "In addition to having my recurring role on 'RHOA,' I will be able to focus my attention on my career as an entertainment correspondent on Dish Nation on the Fox Network, recording my album, building my businesses, and taking baby steps to nurture my relationship with my new love!!!"

The "new love" that Williams refers to in her statement might be NFL player, Lesean McCoy, Enstarz reported earlier this week.

On Wednesday, Williams -- who divorced Kordell Stewart last year -- shared a picture of her new suspected beau, McCoy, on Instagram. The photo has since been deleted.

Wetpaint reports that "RHOA" star Kandi Burruss was also "blindsided" by Bravo's decision to demote Williams.

On Wednesday, Burruss took to Instagram to share a photo of the new "RHOA" cast and express her disappointment and shock towards Williams' demotion.

"I'm excited about the new season of #RHOA coming back on November 9th because it's gonna be good!!! BUT I'm sad that @porsha4real isn't on this pic with us.... Just got that news this morning when @mrglamrocksoul sent me the pic. Wow.... Why am I the last to know," Burruss captioned the photo.

Bravo has yet to release a statement regarding the "RHOA," cast change. However, TMZ reported that WIlliams' demotion is allegedly a result of her dwindling story line, her abrasive attitude during filming of the show's upcoming season, and her physical altercation with "RHOA" cast member, Kenya Moore during last season's reunion episode.
