Of all the countries around the globe, it's Australia that that has expressed the most interest in the launch of the two new smartphones from Apple, the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c. Many of the tech giant's fans took the time to camp out in line for the new phones, though most of them were waiting for the high end 5s, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Right in the heart of Sydney, the first set of customers was already at the flagship store about 20 hours before the two phones went on sale. But Apple has not created as much buzz compared to their launches in the past. The last successful launch that made an appeal with the Aussies was the iPhone 5.

One of the customers spotted, as reported by WSJ, was a 33-year-old creator of 3d animation, Jimmy Gunawan. He claims to be the very first person on Earth to have bought the iPhone 5s, though he sacrificed a good night's sleep so that he would be the first one in line.

Mr Gunawan is an Indonesian residing in the eastern part of Sydney. He said that he was also in line when the iPhone 5 was launched. When asked what attracted him to the new 5s, the 3D animator said it was its slow-motion video feature.

Another customer, who is an economics student, was also more into the iPhone 5s than the 5c. Even suffering from lack of sleep, the 20-year-old remains excited by every new innovation that Apple comes up with.

It has been proven how much Aussies love their iPhones, so much so that according to Statscounter and a Zdnet article, 69 percent of the mobile web browsing activities in the land down under are from various iOS devices. Hence, it's a good thing for Australia to be the first country to launch the new handsets ahead of other countries who are to follow, like the US, UK, Canada, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, China and France, as mentioned by Apple Insider.
