Earlier this month, it was reported that "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes became the highest paid reality-TV star, earning $1.5 million per season.

However, Leakes' huge pay increase, as reported by RadarOnline, might not be enough to keep her on the hit Bravo series.

According to KPopStarz, Leakes might still quit "RHOA" because of her friend Porsha Williams' demotion on the show.

During a recent interview with Bossip, Leakes explained that Bravo should not have demoted Williams to "friend" given the fact that she is actually from Atlanta and some of the other housewives on the show are from out of town.

"Porsha is a Georgia peach -- she's from Georgia," Leakes explained. "It's always kind of sad to see that other women who are not real Georgia peaches are now being on the cast of a show called The Real Housewives of Atlanta."

Williams first announced her demotion on "RHOA" earlier this month on Instagram. She later revealed that she was "blindsided" by producers who suddenly demoted her on the show.

"After a long season of filming, and giving my all, I was blindsided by the announcement from the network that I was demoted from 'Housewife Status,' but would remain on the show in a 'Friend' capacity," Williams explained in a statement obtained by Us Weekly. "Unfortunately, I can only be PORSHA, and portraying anything else would not be genuine nor honest."

"RHOA" producer Andy Cohen later responded to Williams' statement and blamed Williams' lackluster storyline this upcoming season as the reason for her demotion.

"We went into it assuming she would be a full housewife, holding a peach," Cohen explained in an online segment of "Ask Andy." "We just haven't gotten enough [of a storyline] to merit that. She's going to be in it a lot. We love her. I hope she'll be on Bravo endlessly."

The new season of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" premieres on Nov. 9 on Bravo at 8/7c.
