It's been a few months since "Modern Family" actress Sarah Hyland ended her 5-year relationship and was granted a restraining order against her abusive ex-boyfriend, Matt Prokop. Now that some time has passed since the split, Julie Bowen, Hyland's on-screen "Modern Family" mother, say her on-screen daughter is doing great.

"Oh, my God, Sarah is so great," Bowen told Us Weekly at the Baby2Baby Gala on Saturday. "She's an angel. Just love her. I love her. I love all my fake kids though and my real kids."

At the time of the couple's split and Hyland's pending restraining order, it was Bowen who helped the 23-year-old actress "peacefully end the relationship" with her abusive boyfriend, TMZ reported at the time.

"Oh, well the reality is I'm just nosy," Bowen said when asked why she chose to get in the middle of Hyland's tumultuous relationship. "I stick my nose in anything and everything. I love my kids, my fake kids and my real kids, so if anyone needs help I'm a soft touch."

In addition to being "nosy," Bowen explained that she sympathized with Hyland because she, too made "dating mistakes" in her twenties.

"I personally made a million dating mistakes when I was young," she said. "I didn't live in the public eye, and my life was totally different than say Sarah's."

Despite Hyland's dating mistake with Prokop, Bowen insists that Sarah will be just fine in the future.

"I think that actually, you know, Sarah is not even 25, and she's already way ahead of where I ever was, so she's in great shape and she didn't do anything to eff anything up," Bowen said. "I think that's what being young is for! You can rebound and do great and I did, and she's awesome and I'm awesome."
