Earlier this week, "Girls" creator and actress, Lena Dunham denied rumors that she is engaged to her boyfriend, Jack Antonoff.

While appearing on the red carpet for the season 4 premiere of "Girls" Dunham and her friend Jonni Konner spoke to many publications, including Cosmopolitan about the rumors of her alleged engagement.

"This is the most hilarious thing," Konner told Cosmopolitan. "We have friendship rings, they're a stack of three, we both wear them. We both wear them on that finger because that's the finger they fit on, and those are our friendship rings. When they announced that she was wearing an engagement ring, I was, like, 'Yeah, [she's engaged] ... to me.'"

Dunham chimed in, "Yeah! We're engaged to continue to work together for the rest of our lives." She also noted that her boyfriend actually did give her a ring that she wears on her right hand but the ring has never been acknowledged by the media.

According to People, rumors of Dunham's alleged engagement emerged after the actress/writer was recently photographed sporting a ring on her wedding ring finger.

Earlier in October, Dunham revealed on the Howard Stern show that she and Antonoff would not get married until her gay sister had the legal right to be married, E! News reported at the time.

"We're not against marriage, but I wanna wait until it's something-my sister's gay and it just doesn't feel good to me to do something she can't do," Dunham explained. "She can do it in some places but not all places."

Despite choosing not to get married to Antonoff right away, Dunham still referred to the "Fun" guitarist as her "life partner."

"There's a room in our house where he goes and makes music. We were living in a studio apartment when I wrote my book and he made his album...," Lena spoke about Antonoff. "He goes into a room and doodles around on a keyboard and comes out and made magical things."
