Ever since her debut as a reality TV star, Kim Kardashian has been a controversy-magnet that draws people into her daily happenings, and catches the eyes of many with her curvy figure. On a recent photo shoot with Carine Roitfeld, Kardashian gets compared to the Hollywood icon, Marilyn Monroe.

Carine Roitfeld, the former French Vogue editor, now edits her own title, CR Fashion Book. She has chosen Kim Kardashian for her latest issue, and explains why she has made the decision.

"She's controversial, but so was Marilyn Monroe and I always like controversial people," Roitfeld makes a comparison between the reality star and the big screen icon, which is the ultimate compliment for Kim K.

For the publication of CR Fashion Book's third issue, a modern-day Marilyn Monroe certainly goes through an unusual yet unique photo shoot. The magazine cover features Kardashian wearing a grill, while inside shots showed her smearing strawberry jam across her mouth and covering her face with a heavily-embellished mask.

"She was brave... with [Chanel designer] Karl Lagerfeld shooting," Roitfeld comments. "She had one guy for hair, one guy for makeup - no extensions or lashes - and for her it must have been like being naked, and she accepted everything."

"I don't think normally she would wear those sort of clothes - I've never seen her in a Comme des Garçons jumpsuit or a basketball jacket, but she said yes to everything. She was the easiest model we've had. And when we put a mask on her face, she didn't say anything."

Carine Roitfeld continues by praising her beauty and work ethic. "She's beautiful - and in fashion, that is a talent you know. She was also a very sweet person, a hard worker. You don't see her in parties drinking loads of alcohol."
