After frequently leaving TV fans in tears during much of its six-season run, NBC's "Parenthood" will come to an end this Thursday with a bitter-sweet finale.

In the penultimate episode of "Parenthood," the Braverman patriarch Zeek revealed to his children that he does not plan to get a risky heart surgery, despite his poor heart condition. In the meantime, Amber gave birth to a baby boy, who she named Zeek after her grandfather, while Julia and Joel continued to work on reconciling their marriage. Sarah also decided to speed up her wedding with Hank in order to ensure that her father Zeek would still be alive to walk her down the aisle.

During an interview with TVGuide, actress Erika Christensen opened up about the finale, which is entitled "May God Bless and Keep You Always," revealing that it will include a time jump three years into the future.

"I think it will be really satisfying and interesting because it covers a lot of ground," she said. "We go through three years, I think, of some more family developments. ... A lot can happen."

Christensen also discussed how the series finale made her feel.

"You press the fast-forward button on the Bravermans and see a few years of that blooming of the family. It gives me chills," she explained according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Actor Peter Krause also talked about the finale, telling E! News that he expects fan reactions to be mixed.

"I think some people will be really satisfied, and I think other people ... won't be," he explained.

Meanwhile, actress Monica Potter also said viewers may feel more than one way about the "Parenthood" series finale

"I think they'll have a flurry of emotions, just like we did. Honestly it's going to be ...They're going to feel like Sybil 'cause I felt like that, too," Potter said in reference to the 1976 film "Sybil" about a woman with dissociative identity disorder.

According to THR, exeuctive producer Jason Katims said the finale will be "bittersweet" and "uplifting." He also told TV Guide that underlying themes from the early days of the pilot will be seen in the series finale.

"The episode is also a way of really honoring the whole series. There are callbacks in the episode to things we've seen from the very beginning of the show. Baseball, for example, plays a role in the final episode and that was something that we saw in the pilot and then later throughout the first couple of seasons, when Max was playing baseball and Drew played baseball and later, once Victor came into the family, baseball became his way into that family in a way, so we call back to that. It's also a big episode that has lots of scenes of the entire family together, more so than what's usual, kind of like the 100th episode," said the showrunner.

In wake of the series finale, NBC released two sneak peek clips. In one video, Hank is asking Zeek for his blessing to marry Sarah. He begins the conversation by laying "all the cards" on the table and telling Zeek that he probably has Asperger's.

"If Sarah's OK with it, then I am, too," Zeek says in response.

Zeek goes on to talk about how much Sarah taught him about "unconditional love" and why she deserves the absolute best in life. "I would just ask that you take care of my daughter and be there for her," he says.

The other video shows Hank asking Drew to be his best man at the wedding.

Season 6, Episode 13 of "Parenthood," "May God Bless and Keep You Always," airs on Thursday, Jan. 29 on NBC.
