17-year-old Tony Picard is definitely larger than life: at 6-feet-4-inches, and over 400 lbs., he's perhaps the perfect choice for a high school football running back, playing the position for the White Swan Cougars in Washington state.

Picard, believed to be the biggest running back in America, is quite successful in his position: according to The Daily Mail, he's run for over 700 yards, and 15 touchdowns, in this season alone. Picard, who had verified Native American ancestry, is called "Big Tone" by his friends and dreams of playing college football.

“I just love carrying [the ball] and hitting people,” Picard told The New York Post in a phone interview over the weekend. “I’ve enjoyed it. I love playing on a line, I enjoy running the ball. I do what coach asks.” But Picard also told the newspaper that while he receives his fair share of criticism, he doesn't particularly care what others think of him either way. "I don’t really care much about the attention,” he said. “There is a lot of people that kind of dislike it, disagree, agree [with his running the ball]. I’m just playing because I love the sport. I could care less what people think.”

Picard became a media sensation thanks to ESPN's Brock Huard, who Tweeted a picture of the running back on Friday.
