It seems as if the Playstation 4 brings gamers together. On the contrary, it seems as if the Xbox One brings everyone together.

The comprehensive features of the Xbox One and the stunning graphics of the Playstation 4 combine to provide what will be the ultimate gaming experience.

Following last night's historic Xbox One release, both of the world's top new generation game consoles were officially out in the open, marking the first major upgrade in nearly a decade.

The Playstation 4 was released on Nov. 15 and the news reports of its success were circulating the web immediately; Sony raked in more than $1 million within the 24 hour time period after it was launched to the general public.

The Xbox One has lived up to its reputation as the game console that works for everyone. CNN called it "A $499 PC for your living room" while reviewers are already echoing their words.

"Microsoft makes arguably the biggest leap toward an all-in-one entertainment future with Xbox One, a stellar system with an impressive set of features to make consuming entertainment more fun," Brett Molina, of the USA Today, wrote in a review.

By the Numbers: Xbox One vs. Playstation 4 Sales

Microsoft has built up so much anticipation for the Xbox One that experts are already saying that it will "easily surpass" the sales in the beginning of the Xbox 360. Furthermore, it looks like Xbox One has easily caught up to its rival in terms of pre-orders after a slow start.

According to IGN's retail partners, Microsoft is closing in on Sony even faster now to the point where there are only ten percent more Playstation 4 preorders than Xbox One.

"We see lots of improvement in the preorders that are coming on [Xbox One]," Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said, according to IGN. "So no, we are not worried at all. We think it will be a big seller as well."

As time goes on, it is without question that both platforms will continue to dominate the gaming landscape. The question, of course, is simple. Which game console will be leading the way when the dust settles?

Only time will tell.
