In a recent interview with PopSugar, TLC group member Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins slammed Wendy Williams and Angela Bassett for producing and directing what she describes as offensive Lifetime biopics of the late Aaliyah and Whitney Houston.

When asked to compare her VH1 biopic "CrazySexyCool" to Lifetime's Aaliyah and Whitney Houston's films, Watkins naturally expressed favoritism towards her VH1 production.

According to Watkins, the Wendy Williams-produced Aaliyah biopic and the Whitney Houston biopic, which was directed by Angela Bassett, failed because none of the late singers' family members and friends were involved in the making of the film.

"The reason their movies didn't come across well is because they didn't have anybody personally involved with the artists. I was there, OK? And it was my story. I was telling it," Watkins said about her biopic.

She added, "And if I was deceased, I would want my mother or my brother to tell my story, not some lady just trying to get a check ... and that would be [Aaliyah producer] Wendy Williams. My point in saying that is, I didn't appreciate that movie because you didn't capture the essence of her as an artist."

Watkins also slammed Bassett for choosing to focus more on Bobby Brown's story rather than Whitney's legacy.

"Don't start with a Bobby [Brown] story. That's not her life. No man is [any] woman's life. What she did in her life was not just Bobby, so I didn't appreciate that either," Watkins revealed.

In addition to sharing her opinion of the Lifetime biopic, Watkins also shared her experience working with fellow TLC band member Chilli on the group's upcoming album.

After finishing off a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund the group's new album, Watkins revealed that she and Chilli are working hard to make a great new album for fans and plan to incorporate late group member Left Eye into the album as well.

Watkins also revealed that a Las Vegas residency is in the works for TLC.
