"Constantine" may have already been canceled but Stephen Amell of "Arrow" still wants to do something to bring the show back. The actor recently took to Twitter to rally for the show's renewal.

Amell even offered to become a guest on the show and started the hash tag, "#SaveConstantine." "Hey, TV networks / Netflix, and the like, if you pick up the show, I will guest star," he wrote.

Matt Ryan, the titular star of the recently axed NBC series, joined in to suggest a possible collaboration between the two DC characters. "Man, it would be a real pleasure to explore these guys," Ryan responded.

"Can't wait," added Amell. "Constantine and Queen want to get s*** done. Let us make it happen."

A crossover episode between "Arrow" and "Constantine" might eventually convince other networks to pick up the show. After all, DC Comics needs to step it up to compete with its ultimate rival, Marvel Comics.

At present, Marvel shows all fit in a larger universe, while DC shows had to be distributed into a multiverse, having been distributed to various networks. "Gotham" is with Fox, "Arrow" and "The Flash" are with The CW and "Constantine" used to be with NBC. Moreover, other shows are reportedly in the works with AMC, CBS and TNT.

For the shows that were already given airtime, it might still be possible for The CW, NBC and Fox to set their differences aside and opt to pull all of the DC concepts together in a shared universe. Sadly, none of the networks have made any indication that this could be a possibility, according to Screen Rant.

Since there has been no news regarding a revival of "Constantine," fans expect that the crossover episode Amell wants to happen will no longer come to fruition. Such collaboration would have done greatly for John Constantine's series -- considering that "Arrow" has a huge fan base, as evidenced by the fact that the show has reached its third season.

When Amell attended the 2015 Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, he spoke with ComicBook.com and lamented about the cancellation of "Constantine."

"I am on The CW," he said. "I had discussions with DC, so not NBC, not The CW, but with DC Entertainment about guest starring on 'Constantine' when it was still on the air. And that was and is still on the table."
