The iOS 7 jailbreak 7.x Untether 0.3 update is now available via Cydia, the Evad3rs announced on Twitter.

The Evad3rs have been making a number of announcements on their Twitter page ever since the Christmastime release that shocked the tech world. Many in the tech community expected a 2014 release and had already written off 2013 since there were only a few days left of the year -- the Evad3rs were remaining quiet at the time and nobody could foreshadow a holiday release.

When the Evad3rs released the jailbreak, however, controversy ensued when a new app store, Taig, started causing problems. Furthermore, the Evad3rs said Saurik was working to release a jailbreak before anyone else, so that's why they ultimately released the jailbreak when they did.

Most recently, the jailbreak developers had to fix an issue that was plaguing users who were on iPads and iPad Minis, but otherwise things seem to be going smoothly. The Evad3rs are now up to the 1.0.4 update and we can expect even more changes as we progress into the 2014 calendar year.

If you have yet to download the jailbreak, all you need to do is head to evasi0n.com and according to the website it should take no longer than about 5 minutes. The steps require a computer and iTunes as well as you iOS device and a USB cable, but the only thing you'll have to worry about is just plugging it in. The website makes sure to let people know that over the air updates cause problems and that the best thing to do is to remember to complete the jailbreak directly as indicated on the website.
