Bill Cosby has come out swinging in the defamation lawsuit filed against him by former super model Janice Dickinson, branding her a "self-promoter and confessed persistent liar."

The New Daily News reports the 77-year-old entertainer took on his tough-guy stance earlier this week in formally responding to the suit filed by her in late May.

In addition, Cosby charged Dickinson tried to cash in on a "media frenzy" last November in initially lodging her claim that he drugged and raped her more than 30 years ago and considers lying to be part of her "brand."

Filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Cosby's defense also takes Dickinson to task for what's characterized as her manipulative and deceitful ways.

"In her quest to remain in the public eye, Ms. Dickinson has actively cultivated a reputation for outrageous behavior that includes substance abuse, mental lapses and lying," the filing stated.

Dickinson claimed defamation after Cosby's attorney Martin Singer labeled her a liar in 2014, when she first went public with her accusations.

Meanwhile, representatives for Cosby insist Dickinson's rape allegation "completely contradicts" what she wrote about their client in her 2002 autobiography, "No Lifeguard on Duty: The Accidental Life of the World's First Supermodel."

In the book, Dickinson recalled having dinner with Cosby in Lake Tahoe in 1982 and later receiving what she deemed "the dirtiest, meanest look in the world" when she declined to escort him back to his hotel room.

The former "America's Next Top Model" judge recently claimed she was forced to sanitize the encounter in order to get her book published.

"I want justice," Dickinson said recently. "I want Bill Cosby on the stand. I want vindication. I'm doing it for women. I've been called a liar, and I've been re-victimized."

According to Entertainment Weekly, three other accusers have a separate defamation lawsuit pending against Cosby in federal court in Massachusetts.
