“Gears of War 4” is coming to Xbox One during next year’s holiday season, as recently revealed by Microsoft.

Based on the demo video, there will be two playable characters – a man and a woman – and the game will be played from their points of view.

It would appear that several elements of previous “Gears of War” installments were incorporated into the fourth one – such as the characters’ sprinting style and gun-mounted chainsaw weapons. For the game’s antagonists, however, the ones featured in “Gears of War 4” have never been featured in the gaming franchise’s previous installments.

Apart from the monsters and some weapons, the demo neglected to give away some key details about the game that loyal “Gears of War” gamers have been dying to know about. Sadly, the game is still approximately a year and a half from being launched – which only means that fans will have to wait that much before they can officially get their hands on the franchise’s fourth installment.

Thankfully, a version will be released to “Gears of War 4” beta testers using the Xbox One in spring of 2016, according to the fine print noted on Xbox One Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Bundle page.

Those who will purchase the game as soon as it is released in August can obtain "early access" to the "Gears of War 4" beta version. They would only have to make sure that they are able to log in to Xbox Live and play "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" by March 1 of 2016.

'Gears of War: Ultimate Edition'

Players who are waiting for “Gears of War 4” have the “Gears of War: Ultimate Edition” to pass the time with. This game will be out on August 25, and is actually a re-mastered version of the Xbox 360 game that was launched in 2006. On its official release date, Microsoft will also be launching a special $350 Xbox One bundle, which includes the “Ultimate Edition” in its package.

During the “Gears of War” panel at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con International, video game producer Rod Fergusson informed the crowd that every Xbox One unit that will be sold starting August 26th will surely include a free copy of “Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.” However, The Coalition clarified in a statement  that "only the Xbox One 'Gears of War: Ultimate Edition' bundle will include a copy of the game."

“We are committed to offering a variety of choices to help them jump into the current generation of gaming this year and are excited to offer the Xbox One ‘Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’ bundle next month,” the statement further read.
