In a press conference before Real Madrid's friendly against Manchester City in Melbourne on Friday, Rafael Benitez addressed rumors of his alleged dispute with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Speculations on the bad blood between the two emerged while Real Madrid is on tour in Australia. It was reported that Ronaldo scorned the new club manager's training regimen. He was said to be angry with one of the drills and was not bashful about it.

Benitez supposedly instructed players to strike the crossbar from a distance. AS quoted Ronaldo as saying on the field: "It's meant to be the ball in there, in the net. Not this s---."

The last straw came when Spanish news cameras recorded an outburst from the Portuguese star after one of his goals was disallowed by Benitez. Ronaldo immediately uttered profanity in Portuguese.

The press easily got hold of the incident and the Spanish manager was compelled to release a statement to downplay the situation.

"Having worked with him these last few days I've realized how competitive he really is and that's what makes him the best player in the world. He has already proved that and he's proving it for me now. I'd love if every player was as eager to compete and win. I'm very pleased with him," said Benitez, according to Real Madrid's official website.

Ronaldo is planning to leave Real Madrid in favor of Man-U soon, Casillas' agent claimed.

Benitez, meanwhile, appears to be designing the offense to revolve around Gareth Bale. The plan would seem to diminish the role of Karim Benzema in Real Marid's attack, creating talks that the French striker might well be on his way out. Benzema has been linked with moves to the Premier League. Teams like Man-U and Arsenal are said to be interested with the 27-year-old player.

However, Benzema's agent has clarified that the French striker will not be leaving Real Madrid, not yet, at least.

"Karim is very happy at Real Madrid and he will be a Real Madrid player by the end of this transfer window, 1,000 percent," Djaziri told Sky Sports News. "Karim is not looking to move anywhere this summer."

Another "Los Blancos" player on the trading block recently is Sergio Ramos. Real Madrid has received a formal bid from Man-U valued at £28.5 million or roughly $44 million to acquire the 29-year-old Spaniard.

Real Madrid executives, Florentino Pérez and José ángel Sánchez, have stated that they do not intend to part ways with the central defender. They are set to hold a meeting with Ramos this weekend in China.
