"Who you gonna call?"

Ghostbusters!

Director Paul Feig has apparently done just that, to two original members at least.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Bill Murray will appear in next year's all-female "Ghostbusters" reboot. He joins ex co-star Dan Aykroyd who will also be making an appearance in the film.

Murray and Aykroyd will most certainly be playing different roles as Feig has stated that the new "Ghostbusters" movie will be a hard reboot. However, the 52-year-old director told Empire that the new movie will pay homage to the older films but not to the point of coming off as a parody.

"We're not recreating the old movie but we want to do just enough fun nods that the fans will go, 'Oh, okay, they're acknowledging that the other movie existed,'" he elaborated. "I like to watch parodies, but I don't want to do them because they're too referential. Comedy that's too referential has such a short shelf life, whereas comedy that's based around characters will be relatable 2000 years from now because people won't change that much," explains Feig.

ComingSoon.net reported over the weekend that Murray was in Boston last week to shoot his part in the film.

Murray was initially hesitant to do another "Ghostbusters" movie after the lackluster performance of the 1989 sequel. He even told David Letterman that a "Ghostbusters 3" will be a "nightmare" for him but something must have made him change his mind.

Meanwhile, it was no surprise that Aykroyd easily agreed to do a cameo in the film. He served as the screenwriter for the original two films and has since been an advocate for a "Ghostbusters" reboot. Screen Rant noted that the actor may be portraying the role of a cabbie who blurts out classic lines from prior movies.

Other cast members from the original films rumored to appear in the 2016 reboot are Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis, and Ernie Hudson.

Weaver had previously expressed her interest to cameo in the film.

"They might have us pop up as marshmallow men or something and then destroy us. I don't know. I hope they will think of some silly way for us to be in it," Weaver told Screen Rant last March.

"Ghostbusters" stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Chris Hemsworth, Michael K. Williams and Neil Casey.

It will be distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment and will be in theaters on July 15, 2016.
