Chiquis Rivera revealed she would love to play her mother, Jenni Rivera, in a possible upcoming film about the late singer's life because seeing her act was her mother's dream.

Rivera told TVnotas that, while she is learning to understand the acting world, it was her mother's wish to see her become an actress and she won't give up, regardless of what her critics say.

"I want to be an actress, that was really the dream my mom had for me, that is the question," said Rivera.

The singer is the constant subject of criticism from critics who say she lacks talent but, according to the 30-year-old, that only motivates her to keep going.

"Thanks to those people who have said I can't sing, they have motivated me to keep going forward," said Rivera. "My grandpa once said to me: 'People are not born singing, you learn to sing.'"

The Mexican star made her acting debut this year in the film "Tattooed Love," a film about a group of friends who seduce and rob wealthy business men only to get caught in a dangerous situation. Rivera, who plays a supporting character named Lola in the film, explained what kind of roles she hopes to play in the future.

"I think a housewife, in real life I have been labeled as the villain, and I put myself there, and I'm ready to do some slapping, so I guess I could do both (protagonist and antagonist)," she said.

Besides singer and actress, Rivera also added author to her resume this year. The singer published her own memoir in April called "Forgiveness," reported Billboard. The memoir revealed a variety of details about the singer's life, including the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her father and her struggling relationship with her famous mother, who died in a plane crash in 2012.

Rivera and her family recently announced that they will be releasing a tribute book about Jenni Rivera titled "Jenni Vive: Unforgettable Baby!"
