Apple is set to once again raise the bar in home viewing entertainment with the upcoming redesigned Apple TV. Word is out that the tech giant is coming out with a better and more unique boxed set device soon that will redefine the way people watch TV in their homes.

Numerous rumors already point to an A8 chip that will come with the new Apple TV, as reported by Mac Rumors. Aside from that, the company, led by Tim Cook, is allegedly releasing a native SDK for developers who are looking to develop apps specifically for the boxed set.

But while the Apple TV is said to primarily give more options for viewers to watch their favorite shows, it seems that the new boxed set is also targeting to place a firm footing in the gaming industry.

According to Tech Crunch, the new Apple TV will come equipped with a remote control that can double as a game controller complete with "microphone, physical buttons, a touchpad and motion sensitive controls."

It is said that this will be the beginning of Apple venturing into casual games, which has the potential to develop into something bigger similar to Nintendo's Wii that utilized a remote control stick and motion sensor technology.

It is also rumored that the new boxed set will feature the digital assistant, Siri, and a new user interface.

Adding this to the device that offers streaming TV service and home appliance automation, the upgraded Apple TV might just be the next big thing to hit the electronics market.

However, these features do not come cheap as detailed in a report from 9to5Mac. According to the rumors, the fourth generation Apple TV will take around $200 from the consumer's pocket.

However, this is not yet final, and other reports point to something lower, which ranges from $149 to $199.

If the price proves true, then it will be the most expensive Apple TV to debut in the market.

The third generation Apple TV that came out in 2012 hit the markets for $99 and eventually went lower to $69 this March, in preparation for the fourth-generation version.

With the huge difference in the rates, it is said that Apple will still maintain the third-generation device as an entry-level version for the Apple TV.

The tech company is also planning to offer TV channel bundles beginning next year for rates as low as $40 per month. Details on what channels will be included have not surfaced yet.

The fourth-generation Apple TV is rumored to make an appearance at the Sept. 9 event of Apple, which will unveil the latest iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.
