Rumors of HTC's upcoming flagship have been circulating for a couple of weeks now, but they have been anything but conclusive. Even though information on the device were revealed via installments, this has not deterred fan interest on HTC's new smartphone.

To refresh the memory, Phone Arena earlier reported that the HTC A9 will have a six-inch, 1440 x 2560 QHD display, a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor and an IP certification while boasting a 2.5D curved glass design.

In the same report on Aug. 24, the HTC A9 will come in an all-metal build with two color variants: tyrant gold and dark gray. It was also mentioned that the device will cost between $470 to $626. Now, two new reports over the weekend have updated the prior information regarding the model.

For starters, the device wouldn't be known as the HTC A9 after all. Reliable leaker Evan Blass aka @evleaks took to social media to suggest that the handset will eventually be called the HTC One A9 during its launch.

Phone Arena also noted that the newly christened HTC One A9 will have 4 GB of RAM and a main camera that supports raw image file format.

The new HTC smartphone is said to be drawing inspiration from the HTC One M8. The handset is said to feature a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution screen instead of the earlier rumored 1440 x 2560 QHD display.
However, this might not be what fans expected of the device since a QHD display has a reputation for demanding so much battery life on previous HTC smartphones.

"Offering a 1080 x 1920 resolution screen on a 2015 flagship model gives off the impression that HTC is holding back. And for a company in financial difficulties, struggling in a very competitive industry, that is not the image that it should want to convey," according to a separated report from Phone Arena.

AT&T is said to be the exclusive carrier of the HTC One A9 in the U.S. Although no release date has been confirmed yet of HTC new flagship, Notebook Check earlier reported that handset's employing the MediaTek Helio X20 processor would not be available this 2015. This is because the chips won't be shipped until later this year.

"HTC One A9" will most probably be released on the first quarter of 2016. Although, the prospect of the device being showcased this year but launched next year remains to be a viable possibility.
