The Samsung Galaxy S5 has been unveiled but its popular predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S4, is not done just yet.

Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat is being released this week and users can update their Samsung Galaxy S4 phone by simply doing so over the air. If you prefer to do it on the computer -- and save some battery in the meantime -- the Samsung desktop app also allows you to make the update.

Although the S5 will soon drown its predecessor, the Galaxy S4 is still a solid option, especially for people on a budget -- in at least some retail outlets, the phone's price was slashed to a much more affordable $99.

The iPhone 5s, on the other hand, also was cut in price as Apple continues to hint towards a new iPhone in the coming months. Considering that the Samsung Galaxy S4 was lowered in price only after the new phone came out, it is easy to assume that the same sequence of events will be occurring with the Apple phone.

With a new iPhone on the horizon, we can also expect the price of cases to drop. This is not too much of an issue, however, since a great deal of the iPhone cases on websites such as Amazon can be found for very affordable prices.

Although it might be a difficult decision when it comes to choosing whether you want an iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy phone, it comes down to which features and specifications you enjoy the most. If you are someone who wants extra options, the iPhone might be a great choice for you because of the versatility provided to users in the form of the iOS 7 Jailbreak. If you want to steer away from Apple, the Samsung Galaxy also serves as a great line of phones.
