Blaine's "Daddy Issues" start to unravel in the second episode of "iZombie" this season two.

The Oct. 13 episode of the show featured actor Robert Knepper as Blaine's (David Anders) father and revealed a sad childhood for the zombie, who turned the series' lead Liv Moore (Rose McIver), a medical resident, into a zombie.

Blaine initially explained this side of himself to Liv's ex-fiance Major (Robert Buckley) last season. When asked by Major why Blaine is doing his business of getting human brains to sell to zombies in Seattle, which also translates to how could he do such an evil act of killing innocent lives to get brains for his endeavor, Blaine supplied him with an honest answer.

"Daddy issues. Megalomania. Greed. Wow, that felt really good to get off my chest," Blaine said, as quoted by TV Fanatic in June.

Yet, although it was just said in a light manner, the second episode showed that his father's upbringing and character really affected him. Blaine revealed that his grandfather loved him, which his father did not do, in his opinion, a separate article of TV Fanatic noted.

However, Blaine may need to resolve these "daddy issues" as aside from being his father, he is also the first human he turned into a zombie, making him an even more vital person in his life.

Other Highlights

The episode also shows a struggling Major as he continues on his new mission to kill zombies in exchange for his and Liv's safety, Comic Book noted.

On the lighter side, McIver continues to impress her fans as she tackles another different brain for her character Liv. In "Zombie Bro," Liv is influenced by a frat boy's brain, which resulted to several hilarious moments, including the one where Ravi (Rahul Kohli) was pranked by Liv.

The show challenges the series' lead even more as she gives her take on how Liv will be influenced by a "Real Housewife's" brain victim on the third episode, as teased on YouTube.

The synopsis for the Oct. 20 episode reads as:

"Real Dead Housewife of Seattle" - Liv eats the brains of a recently murdered trophy wife who was pushed to her death from the balcony of her stunning architectural home in the hills by a hired hit man. A Pinot Grigio-sipping, suddenly fashion obsessed Liv and Detective Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) begin questioning suspects in their search for the original brains behind this murder. Meanwhile, Liv and Ravi are surprised to learn that Peyton (guest star Aly Michalka) has returned to Seattle."
