The annual Country Music Association Awards was a total success as returning co-hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley made sure that everybody was having a good time. The two poked fun at different personalities, including country singers that recently broke up like Blake Shelton and ex-wife Miranda Lambert.

The 49th CMA Awards on Wednesday at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., was a blast for country musicians, especially those who took home some awards. However, what was definitely newsworthy for many was Underwood and Paisley's introductory remarks and performances, which cracked up the whole room, including ex-couple Shelton and Lambert who were seating apart.

Shelton and Lambert divorced recently. And during the Country Music Awards, where both of them are very well-known, it can't be avoided that the issue will be mentioned. Underwood began her jokes towards the audience, saying, "This year there have been so many big changes," she said as quoted by Fox News.

"You what else is 'cray cray?' How many couples broke up this year — from Ben Affleck to Jennifer Garner, Halle Berry and what's his name?" Paisley then continued with Underwood responding, "can't ignore the break up that really rocked our world. The one that's on everybody's mind. Two people in this very room that we all know and love. Splitsville," she joked.

And, of course, it is obvious that the two were talking about the former married couple Shelton and Lambert. But all of a sudden, the cameras turned to Kermit and Miss Peggy, which made the audience burst into laughter.

"On a completely unrelated topic, howdy Blake. Carrie, have you heard that duet that Blake did with Ashley Madison?" Paisley added to the joke.

Moving forward, talented country musician Luke Bryan took home the Entertainer of the Year Award while Shelton's ex-wife Lambert took home the Female Vocalist Award for the sixth consecutive time, Fox News reports.

Meanwhile, just hours before the event, there were reports that Shelton has finally moved on from his marriage with Lambert. USA Today confirmed that Shelton's representative Wes Vause already gave a thumbs up, admitting to the dating rumors. And although no words came out from Shelton directly, Stefani is, however, speaking out about Shelton.

"I'm not going to answer that right now, Ryan. I think I've given enough of myself this morning to you. But I think he's hot, don't you?" Stefani recently told Ryan Seacrest in an interview for Seacrest's radio show as quoted by his official website.
