Release Date

Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiered in Los Angeles on March 13, 2014. It was released internationally on March 26, 2014 and is scheduled to be released in the United States on April 4, 2014 in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D. The sequel to be directed by the Russo brothers is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.

Plot

The story is set two years after the events of The Avengers, and Captain America Steve Rogers now lives in Washington, D.C. and works for Nick Fury at espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D.

One day, Fury is ambushed by a mysterious assassin named the Winter Soldier and apparently dies but not before giving Rogers a USB with leaked details of a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. project named Operation: Insight, three Helicarriers linked to spy satellites and designed to pre-emptively eliminate threats. When Rogers refuses to hand over the information to S.H.I.E.L.D. he is branded as a fugitive and hunted by the agency, forcing him to team up with Natasha Romanoff and Sam Wilson to discover that a terrorist organization is behind Operation: Insight and plans to use its data mining algorithm to kill 20 million people deemed as threats.
