Speculations about Samsung Galaxy S7's release date and specs continue to circulate online. The latest news revealed that the upcoming flagship smartphone might sport a new camera technology.

According to a report from Valuewalk, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the future Galaxy models will have the Britecell camera technology. Britecell was unveiled during the Samsung Electronics 2015 Investors Forum, which was held earlier this month.

The release details of this new technology are still scarce but if rumors are true, then those who are in high anticipation for the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be able to experience Britecell technology, come its release date. As noted on Digital Trends, the new camera technology enhances light sensitivity when shooting in low light conditions.

With this improvement, photographers will find less distortion in the images. Color fuzziness in the photos will also be reduced.

"The module is 17-percent lower in height - that's about a millimeter, so better than nothing - than existing Samsung Isocell camera modules, which could mean a less pronounced hump around the camera lens on future smartphones," the Digital report further explained.

The Britecell camera tech also features super-fast phase detection autofocus or PDAF. Those who enjoy high dynamic range in images will also be able to enjoy the Smart WDR feature of Britecell, an HDR-style photo option that is currently available in Samsung cameras.

Meanwhile, a previous report on Latin Post cited the possibility of the Samsung Galaxy S7 release date to be set for Feb. 22 or Feb. 25 next year, allegedly the same launch for the smartphone's firmware.

The rumor mill is also churning out details that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will come with two major variants, similar to the current flagship, the Galaxy S6. Accordingly, the SM-G930 model will be the standard variant while the SM-G935A will be the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that features a curved glass display.

Other purported Samsung Galaxy S7 specs, as posted on ValueWalk, include the 4K resolution for the display screen. Furthermore, the South Korean tech giant might also release two different editions, based on the chipset used.

The report noted that the East Asia model will be powered by Exynos 8890 while Western markets will receive Samsung Galaxy S7 units equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset.

Tech enthusiasts are expected to take all the rumored details with a grain of salt until Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy S7. Regularly check back on this site for updates about the smartphone.
