The best thing about owning an Android powered smartphone is that users are allowed to choose what operating system they want to use on their device. This can come quite in handy since Google haven't allowed its entire smartphone lineup with the latest Android updates. And Can choose the option of CarbonROM.

As per Gigjets, all of this can be achieved only through the use of custom ROMs. Fortunately, the internet is filled with many custom ROM developers such as CarbonROM. This developer team is quite active as of late launching different version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

According to the automobile, the CarbonROM custom firmware has been made available for the Nexus 5X and with it comes features without all the bloatware. So if the user wants to install an alternative to Android 7.1.1 Nougat then they can follow the steps given blow.

The first user needs to make a backup of their data on their handset and make sure that the device is 80 percent charge left on the rooted device. The user will need a rooted handset and have enabled USD debugging and install the custom recoveries such as TWRP or CWM.

The user needs to download and install the CarbonROM Android 7.1.1 Nougat onto the PC along with GApps. Then they have to connect the Nexus 5X to the computer and then copy the files over to the SDcard and then switch the handset off and unplug it.

Then boot the Nexus 5X into recovering by holding down the Power, Volume Up and Volume Down and while releasing them user will see the Fastboot or Bootloader menu. Use the volume keys on the device for navigation and the power button for selecting. Choose Bootloader - Recovery.

Then choose Backup and Restore and make a Nandroid backup and go to the main menu. The user should then wipe data by choosing wipe data/factory reset. The user will also need to wipe cache partition and then make a cache wipe. Then make a Dalvik cache wipe.

Then choose to install zip from sd card and zip from sd card and then find CarbonROM Android 7 Nougat ROM and confirm it.The Nexus 5X will be running on an alternate version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat now. One more fact is that the first boot will last a bit longer than usual, but this will happen only the first time.
