Apple's launch event on Sept. 10 announced a lot of news for Apple's iPhones, including details about the highly anticipated iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. Less news was announced regarding Apple's iPods, which consist of the iPod classic, iPod touch, iPod nano and iPod shuffle. New colors and warranty plans are all that Apple has in store for its iPods.

The iPod touch, iPod nano and iPod shuffle will now be available in a new color. "Space Gray," a color first introduced for the iPhone 5S, will be added to the list of available colors. For the iPod touch, this color is only available for iPods that have 34GB or 64GB of memory.

Because of the addition of new iPod colors, some are speculating that there will not be any additional updates to the iPod this season. The effort it takes to add a new color for the various types of iPods is a sign of this.

The iPod touch now has a 4-inch Retina display. It is, however, powered by the A5 chip. This differs from the iPhone 5S, which will be powered by the new and updated A7 chip.

The 32GB iPod touch is available for $299, while the 64GB is priced at $399. Shoppers are paying for the iPod's FaceTime HD camera, 5MP iSight camera and iPod touch loop. These specs were just recently updated on Apple's web site.

In addition, Apple updated its iPod support page to include new warranty options for the iPod touch. According to the web site, iPods typically come with "a one-year limited warranty and 90 days of complimentary telephone technical support." Now, customers have the option of buying AppleCare+ for the iPod classic and the iPod touch. AppleCare+ extends coverage by one extra year and also adds "up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a $29 service fee plus applicable tax."

AppleCare+ costs $59.

The AppleCare+ cost for iPhones was launched in Europe today, and its price rose from $49 to $79.

Apple's iPod class has 160GB for $249.

The iPod nano is priced at $149 for 16 GB.

The iPod shuffle has 2GB of memory and is $49.
