Just months after Apple finally catered to lower-budget markets by releasing the cheaper iPhone 5c, the tech giant might be sending overall iPhone prices back up.

A report from Business Insider is indicating that the iPhone 6 could cost $100 more, than its predecessor, at least according to Jefferies analyst Peter Misek.

"Our checks indicate Apple has started negotiating with carriers on a $100 iPhone 6 price increase. The initial response has been no, but there seems to be an admission that there is no other game-changing device this year," Misek said.

Understandably, people will begin to wonder why Apple would not only raise the price but also raise it by $100 in a time when many of its competitors have cheaper options.

With that being said, it could make sense in the long run if Apple plans to release another budget-friendly phone following the release of the iPhone 6. Perhaps the company hopes to make the cheaper phone a bit more expensive than the iPhone 5c, which did not fare as well as the company anticipated when it rolled out two iPhones simultaneously for the first time in history. A release date for the next iPhone has not yet been announced by Apple.

As far as deatails about the phone itself, it is rumored to be larger and a photo released this week by iPhon.fr possibly backs that up. The photo shows the front face of what appears to be the next iPhone, but nothing was confirmed. Of course, the validity of the phone frame in the photo will not be known until Apple actually unveils its next iPhone.
