Marc Anthony launched Magnus Media in April, and the 47-year-old artist and producer revealed why he decided to open the company to give opportunities to Latino stars.

Anthony told Billboard that his entertainment, marketing, social media and content development company was established because he saw a lot of artists who are not getting enough chances to prove their worth.

"I don't think there's anyone in the industry that I don't know, and whenever we went over the state of the business, I realized they were missing a lot of opportunities," said Anthony, whose company is similar to Jay Z's Roc Nation.

Almost a year after opening Magnus Media, Anthony has already struck deals with Cuban music group Gente De Zona, Spanish singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz, Venezuelan pop duo Chino & Nacho and radio personality Enrique Santos. According to Billboard report, Sanz inked a licensing, sponsorship and endorsement contract.

Similar to Jay Z's company, Anthony's Magnus Media is also targeting the sports industry. Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband confirmed that he and Magnus Media CEO Michael Vega will also focus on their sports division this year.

"We are going to grow our influencer list," Anthony said. "We are building out the sports division. And we are focused on establishing new distribution platforms."

Magnus Sports already struck a deal with their first client in December -- New York Yankees pitcher Aroldis Chapman. Previous reports revealed that Magnus Sports will represent Chapman in marketing, while Praver Shapiro Sports Management will handle baseball-related matters.

Anthony revealed that they will likely add up to 10 more baseball players in their roster this year. He previously said that he will focus on striking deals with Latino baseball players, who are not getting the attention they deserve in the Major League Baseball.

"Baseball, like music, is an ingrained, cultural passion for many Latinos throughout the world, and there's no shortage of amazing stars of Hispanic origin," Anthony said. "Despite that, until now, there hasn't been an enterprise designed to meet their needs."

Anthony, who holds a stake in National Football League club Miami Dolphins, also revealed that they will announce a partnership deal with another sport in the coming months. If his company decide to represent NFL players, he will be forced to give up his Dolphins ownership stake.
