Jennifer Lopez hints there are times when even she wonders how she holds it all together.

The Statesman reports the 46-year-old mother of twin seven-year olds and arguably the busiest woman in all of Hollywood now readily admits life has become a "juggling act."

And how could it not, what with Lopez having just started her Las Vegas residency tour to go along with her starring role as an "American Idol" judge and a tortured cop in her hit new series "Shades of Blue" that also stars Ray Liotta.

"I take it step by step and day by day and everyone in my life knows the commitments I have," she said.

And to make it all work takes dogged determination and unwavering principles, one of which for Lopez means adhering to her clean living lifestyle of no drugs or alcohol.

"I don't drink," she recently told The Independent. "Don't like the taste. It would be a waste of money. Never done drugs either."

Whatever her motivations, it all helps to make Lopez the ultimate role model for her two young children, Max and Emme. In her mind, it's simply a matter of doing what she was told as a child by her own schoolteacher mom.

"My mother said I could do anything with my life, I could even be President of the United States," Lopez reflected.

Earlier this month, Lopez was in rare form, as she kicked off her Vegas residency with the likes of Justin Bieber, Kelly Osbourne, Rebel Wilson and Wilmer Valderrama all in the audience.

Just days into its launch, the show has already been widely praised for its masterful combination of sultry songs and energetic dance routines. Through it all, Lopez has vowed to give her fans the best experience possible whenever they walk through the doors.

"I'm not as gifted a vocalist as some of the girls out there, but I know I communicate," she said.  "It's a much more intimate experience, and it's about real performers. Not everybody can really do that."
