Muxes will be covered in Vogue Mexico for the very first time.

Vogue is a popular fashion and lifestyle magazine that entails different topics such as fashion, beauty, culture, living, and runway. It started as a weekly newspaper in the United States in 1892, before coming into a monthly publication years after.

Vogue Mexico started in 1999 and at present, they have three editors-in-chief and they are Eva Hughes, Kelly Talamas, and Karla Martinez. Vogue Mexico will surprise its subscribers in December as they will feature the Muxes in Mexico on its cover for the first time in its history.

Muxe is the term used for the indigenous third gender individuals who have been in southern Mexico for centuries. The magazine will also include the series of editorial portraits and profiles of the Muxes in the Oaxaca, a town in Juchitan. 

Muxes originated in Oaxaca, Mexico, and have been part of its society since the pre-Spanish period. The hidden beauty of the Muxes will be covered by Vogue Mexico and Latin America in partnership with British Vogue. This is a very historical event for Vogue as it will let the global audience know the life and experiences of the Muxes in Mexico.

Karina Gonzalez Ulloa, the author of the cover story said that "Women are as strong as men, and the Muxe as respected as either of them," This statement from Ulloa means that there is equality in terms of physical strength no matter what your preferred gender is. 

In an article published in Remezcla, this digital article will bring its readers to a world where only few have little understanding. A world that is full of judgment, discrimination, and unbias outlook to the members of the LGBT. The December edition will lead its readers in Juchitan de Zaragoza, Oaxaca where the Vogue magazine pool of writers sat down with the most well-known Muxes to introduce them to the readers of Vogue around the world. This is such a big opportunity for the Muxes. 

The director of the sexual diversity of Juchitan's Town Hall Pedro Enrique Godínez Gutiérrez, also known as La Kika, said that to be a Muxe means duality. However, he clarified that Muxe acts based on the circumstances. Sometimes they act like a man and sometimes they act like a woman. It could be either of the two depending on the occasions.

According to the Guardian, Vogue's December issue will feature Victoria La Toya López, Felina Santiago, and Estrella Vazquez who. According to the Muxes, they have not heard about the Vouge not until they were approached by the pool of writers of Vogue Mexico and Latin America for a special cover on December issue.  

The faces of the three Muxes will appear in the December British Vogue. Meanwhile, Vazquez will appear in a traditional embroidered pupil and enagua vestimenta with delicate accessories. And the 37-year old Zapotec will be featured on its newsstand in one of the two December covers in Mexico. And the British renowned photographer who has captured the essence of notables in the past few decades is Tim Walker. 

The release of the December issue of Vogue Magazine in Mexico will give its readers an eye-opener as to what are the different lived experiences of the Muxes in the city. Meanwhile, this is expected to be a hit magazine in Oaxaca because finally the history of Muxes where it originated will be finally narrated in the magazine.
