Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner met when they were both 25, in 2007, at a networking lunch set up by one of her longtime business partners.

The daughter of former President Donald Trump told Vogue in a 2015 interview that the people around them at the time "very innocently" set them up thinking that their only interest in one another would be transactional.

"Whenever we see them, we're like, 'The best deal we ever made!'" Ivanka said.

According to Business Insider, the two had broken up due to religious differences in 2008. Jared was raised in the modern Orthodox Jewish tradition, while Ivanka's family is Presbyterian.

It was important for Jared's family for him to marry someone Jewish. Three months later, the two got back together when Chinese-American businesswoman Wendy Deng Murdoch invited them for a weekend on her yacht.

In July 2009, Ivanka and Jared got engaged after she completed her conversion to Judaism. The American businessman proposed to Ivanka with a 5.22-carat cushion-cut diamond engagement ring.

By October 2009, the couple got married at the Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey. They invited 500 guests, including celebrities and politicians like Barbara Walters, Regis Philbin, Anna Wintour, Rudy Giuliani, and Andrew Cuomo. The couple welcomed their first child, Arabella, in July 2011.

The former president's daughter gave birth to their second child, Joseph, in October 2013 and their third child, Theodore, in March 2016.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner's Life in the White House

The presidency of former President Donald Trump has created opportunities for his daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Ivanka and Kushner both served as senior advisors to the president. According to iNews, the two walked into unpaid jobs at the White House with "very troubled finances."

But as it turned out, the former first daughter and son-in-law walked out having made between $172 million and an astonishing $640 million in outside income. During his last year in the White House, iNews reported that Jared also set up a holding company in a Caribbean tax haven.

According to Vanity Fair, a major factor in the couple's outside profits came from Ivanka's ownership stake in the Trump Hotel in Washington, D.C. Before business slowed down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple paid 23 visits to the hotel. Ivanka reportedly made more than $13 million from the hotel since 2017.

The Ivanka brand is also another factor in the couple's wealth. It received a new trademark to sell in Canada six months after the company officially shut down.

In total, at least 28 foreign trademarks were reportedly approved for Ivanka while in the White House. The former president's daughter shut down her eponymous fashion line in 2018 after retailers like Nordstrom dropped it.

Other major sources of their income came from Jared's real estate holdings. In 2017, Jared bought a Manhattan office building badly in need of renovation for $1.8 billion, a record for New York City.

The 41-storey building stands just down the street from Trump Tower. According to Fortune, Jared reported some $117 million in income, mainly from rent or royalties linked to his residential and commercial properties, for 2020.

Ivanka's husband also reported $1.8 million from Westminster Management, the Kushner Company's management firm for multifamily housing in New York, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, and Tennessee.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner's Happy Marriage

According to South China Morning Post, the couple has been inseparable even after more than a decade of marriage.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner seemed to believe that teamwork makes the dream work. The couple loves to do things together, from their careers to their eating and workout schedules.

Even with Ivanka's work focused on the U.S. workforce, she was able to join Jared on trips abroad in his role as a foreign adviser. They still get to spend ample time together even while working at the White House.

Aside from their early morning gym sessions, Ivanka and Jared were also regularly spotted out on runs with the Secret Service, a way for them to de-stress and bond at the same time.

In a 2015 interview, Jared Kushner told Vogue that he and Ivanka Trump turn off their phones every Friday evening for quality family time together, starting with a sabbath meal.

And during the rest of the week, Jared said they agreed on their healthy approach to eating by limiting their carbohydrate intake despite dining out together for business dinners and date nights.
