Dave Chappelle's attacker, Isaiah Lee, revealed why he attacked the comedian in his show at The Hollywood Bowl.

Lee told the New York Post that Chappelle's jokes about gay people and homelessness "triggered" him. The 23-year-old noted that the comedian should be more sensitive when cracking jokes.

"I identify as bisexual... and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering... I wanted him to know that next time, he should consider first running his material by people it could affect," Lee said as he spoke from the Twin Towers correctional facility in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Lee also shared that his breaking point before the attack was when another comedian came on stage and made a "crude joke" about pedophilia. Lee noted that the moment made him look back on his experience of being molested as a teen.

Lee revealed that he was molested at the age of 17 while he was under the care of the Department of Children and Family Service in Los Angeles. Isaiah Lee further noted that he was also a single dad to a five-year-old boy.

"It's a struggle and I wanted Dave Chappelle to know it's not a joke," said Lee, who at one point experienced being homeless.
