The family of celebrity fitness trainer Eric Fleishman, better known as "Eric the Trainer," announced that he died suddenly at his Glendale, California home on Thanksgiving. He was 53.

"We are heartbroken to share that Eric Phillip Fleishman passed away unexpectedly on the morning of November 24, 2022," his family said Sunday in a post shared on his Instagram page. The statement added that "his wife, Alysia, son, parents, and close friends/family" were deeply saddened by this event.

According to CNN, the Instagram post said Fleishman was "a beacon of light, hope, and love" who "touched many lives for the better." Fans were then asked to celebrate Fleishman's life by sending their "experiences, memories, and tributes" to a particular email address.

"Our hope is to assemble these contributions for a Celebration of Life ceremony in the near term. The date and time of this event will be forthcoming shortly," the family said in the post, alongside several photos of Fleishman.

The Instagram post concluded: "This loss is devastating, and we appreciate your thoughts and prayers." No other information surrounding his death has been made public.

How Did Celebrity Fitness Trainer Eric Fleishman Rise to Fame?

Eric Fleishman became known as a celebrity trainer by taking on high-profile clients like Kirstie Alley, Michelle Branch, and the boy band Big Time Rush. According to TV Insider, he also helped train Rachel Crow, Max Martini, and Big John McCarthy.

Fleishman also hosted the AXS reality show "Celebrity Sweat," which gave viewers a glimpse into the lives of various actors, actresses, and athletes. Fleishman also ran a fitness consulting business and was a member of the Muscle and Fitness magazine's advisory board.

He also hosted several "Muscle & Fitness" online videos. Eric Fleishman also made guest appearances on TV Guide's channel and Tyra Banks' talk show.

Friends Pay Tribute to Celebrity Fitness Trainer Eric Fleishman

After the news of Eric Fleishman's passing broke, several notable people wrote messages paying tribute to him on his social media page.

Big Time Rush's James Maslow said: "Miss you so much, brother. You've been one of the largest and most positive influences on my life and countless others."

Maslow's bandmate, Kendall Schmidt, also paid tribute to Fleishman. He said the news is devastating, but Fleishman will live on forever in the people he helped and inspired, which included him.

Michelle Branch also sends her condolences to the Fleishman family, writing, "Terrible news. My heart goes out to Alysia and Henry."

Jason Priestley, an alumnus of the television show Beverly Hills, 90210, recalled Fleishman as "truly the brightest of lights" and expressed his astonishment and sadness at hearing of his passing. Patrick Schwarzenegger wrote: "So sad. Rip Eric. Will miss you."

Jay Cutler said: "Such terrible news. He brought so much positivity to everyone. RIP." "Project Blue Book" star added: "I'm heartbroken, Eric. You inspired so so many people with your infectious positive energy every day." 

Milos said she was grateful to have known Eric Fleishman, whom she spent the last three years working out with every day.
