Travis Kelce Allegedly Urged Taylor Swift to Address Friendship With Blake Lively Amid Actress' Legal Battle
Travis Kelce allegedly advised Taylor Swift to address her friendship with Blake Lively in unsealed transcripts of their texts.

Travis Kelce allegedly urged Taylor Swift to be wary about her friendship with Blake Lively, according to text messages between the two women that were made public as part of Lively's court filings in her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni. The messages came at a time when the actress's ongoing legal battle with her former co-star has put a strain on her high-profile friendship with Swift.
According to The US Sun, Kelce had grown concerned with the way Lively had been speaking to his fiancée and urged Swift to address their friendship prior to the texts being revealed. A source told the outlet that Kelce noticed the way Lively was speaking to Swift and 'felt it wasn't right', believing her behaviour 'felt off' and advising Swift to 'be honest about how she was feeling' about their friendship. 'He didn't dislike Blake, but he didn't think it was fair on Taylor, who had been nothing but a present and loyal friend,' the source said.
December 2024 Text Exchange
The December 2024 text messages between Swift and Lively showed the actress reaching out to the singer to see if their friendship was still 'good', and Swift telling her how she felt.
'I always want the opportunity to be a better friend if there's something I unintentionally did,' Lively said in their conversation. 'I know how busy and taxed you are—physically, emotionally, practically, so I don't expect any more from you ever. Just want to make sure all is good.'
Swift responded that she had felt 'a little bit of a 'shift' in the way Lively was talking to her. 'It's more like...and I feel really bad saying anything about this because your texts have been so nice in their intent but your last few...it's felt like I was reading mass corporate email sent to 200 employees,' Swift wrote.
Swift noted that Lively said 'we' 18 times in her messages. 'And it feels awful to be in any way critical of any way you process what you've been going through but I just kinda miss my funny, dark, normal-speaking friend who talks to me as herself, not like, a plural unit. When it's a group I'm hearing from, I feel distanced from you even more than we are geographically.'
Lively explained that she had grown paranoid over sending texts, which was why she chose to be cautious about the language she used. 'I've internalised that everything digital may be public...So yeah, I've been texting like I'm writing. Not like me talking. I didn't realise that until you pointed it out, but I see it.'
Swift assured Lively that it was just her she was speaking to without the need to 'overly explain things or be overly nice or whatever'. While Swift told Lively that no apologies were necessary, Lively still apologised for how she had been speaking to her, extending it to her family as well before saying of Baldoni: 'Fk that guy and fk his whole gaggle of supervillains.'
Legal Battle Strains Friendship
The ongoing legal battle between Lively and Baldoni has put significant strain on her friendship with Swift. A source revealed to Page Six that Swift 'felt used' by Lively, with another source telling the outlet that the friendship between the two women 'would never be the same' following the ongoing legal battle.
'She will forever be furious at how Blake quite clearly was using her for clout and leverage in her dealings with Justin. She really hates that Blake would even think like that, let alone write the things she did in that text,' the insider said.
Swift and Lively have allegedly not spoken to each other since around the time of the conversation. They were last photographed together in October 2024.
