The 2014 Major League Baseball season has about 40 regular season games remaining for each team, and so far, we've seen three no-hitters, controversial calls and historical record-breaking hits at the plate.

Each MLB divisional race is tight with huge playoff implications on the line as the race in the standings tightens. Enter the highly-competitive American League East.

Millions of eyes are on the AL East, as always. The division has 40 combined World Series victories, the most of any division in all of baseball. The most fierce rivalries have taken place in this division for decades, including the New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox rivalry, arguably the most bitter feud in all of sports.

This year, it looks like it will come down to the wire once again. But which team will take the AL East to put themselves in great position for the MLB playoffs? Latin Post.com takes a look at the teams most likely to win the division:

Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles currently lead the AL East with a 68-50 record. The main reason has been because of their bats, as they have the most home runs in the majors. Nelson Cruz leads the Orioles with 31 home runs and 83 RBIs. Nick Markakis has been an underrated player all year long for Baltimore. Markakis has a team-leading 144 hits so far this season. Unlike other AL East teams, the Orioles have not endured a long slump or losing streak. Although the Orioles haven't won the Al East since 1997, they have a great chance to end that drought this season.

Toronto Blue Jays

Beware if you're a pitcher -- this team has four batters who have already eclipsed the 100-hit plateau. Edwin Encarnacion will soon join that list, and create a very balanced lineup in Toronto. Melky Cabrera, Jose Reyes and Jose Bautista have been playing excellently all season long. The Blue Jays rank second (behind the Orioles) in total home runs hit this season with 139. It doesn't appear as if they have the pitching rotation to go far enough in the postseason, but their bats should do the work. The Blue Jays haven't won the AL East since 1993, when they won the World Series.

New York Yankees

It's incredible that the Yankees are still in heavy contention to make the postseason and possibly win the division. Joe Girardi is making a strong case for the AL Manager of the Year Award. The Yankees don't have a single batter with a .280 batting average or even 20 home runs. These aren't exactly the Bronx Bombers we're used to seeing. Regardless of not having a superstar player this season, the Yankees are in third place in the division at 61-57. The Yankees are also just one game back in the wild card spot behind the Detroit Tigers, who are spiraling downward.

Tampa Bay Rays

It's been a roller coaster ride for the Rays this year. Despite being in the AL wild card race, they traded away their ace pitcher David Price to the Tigers. The Rays currently sit at fourth place in the AL East at 58-60. Their biggest issue all season has been their inability to hit the long ball. They don't have a single batter with even 15 home runs. Rays management pretty much gave up on this season when they traded away Price.

Boston Red Sox

What an extremely disappointing season it's been for the defending World Series champions. In 2012, the team finished last in the AL East. In 2013, the Red Sox placed first and won it all. This year, they rank last in the division again at 52-65. The last three years, the Red Sox have gone from last to first to last. Maybe next season, Red Sox fans can look forward to a possible first place finish. But with David Ortiz turning 39 years old in a few months, time is running out.

There is still a quarter of the season remaining. Who do you think will win the AL East? Please feel free to vote below for who you think is going to win the division.
