Jon "Bones" Jones successfully defended his Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight title against Daniel Cormier at UFC 182 on Saturday night, and the fighter considered by many as the greatest of all time is eyeing big-name fighters for his next fight.

Jones, who has successfully defended his title eight times, said that he is open to the idea of facing UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, Cormier's stable mate at American Kickboxing Academy (AKA).

Jones said he will only move up to the heavyweight division if he will be matched up against a perfect opponent, and 27-year-old said that Velasquez falls on that category.

"I would fight Cain Velasquez in a heartbeat," Jones said via Yahoo Sports. "I really would. I would love to fight AKA's best athletes and I believe I would beat them all. I believe that our team is the best team in the world."

But while he is open to facing Velasquez for the heavyweight title, Jones said that he is not planning to vacate his light heavyweight crown. He clarified that he will only move up in weight for a super fight and it will not be a permanent move because he is very comfortable at light heavyweight division.

"I am a true light heavyweight. I will be a light heavyweight for a long time," Jones said. "I really don't even want to talk about heavyweight anymore. I'm making weight pretty good at light heavyweight. And when I do go to heavyweight, it will be something me and Dana (White) talk about. And we'll have the right opponent, and it will be for the right purse."

But before facing Velasquez, Jones will have to defend his title against a familiar foe -- Alexander Gustafsson.

Gustafsson gave Jones arguably the toughest fight of his career at UFC 165 in September 2013 in a showdown where a big number of analysts and fans believe that Gustafsson won the fight.

Gustafsson, who said on Saturday he was not impressed with Jones' performance against Cormier, will face Anthony Johnson on Fox 14 on Jan. 26 where a win will give him his long-awaited rematch against "Bones" later this year.
