After a slow start, the Xbox One seems to have caught up to its arch-rival, the Playstation 4.

Robert. W. Baird analyst Colin Sebastian said this week that he expects the PS4 and Xbox One to have about the same amount of success in sales. In the end, he even thinks Xbox One will be the best.

"While many forecasts still give an edge to Sony/PS4 in North America sales, we continue to expect similar or even slightly higher sales of Xbox One by the end of the launch window," Sebastian said.

He also predicted that both Microsoft and Sony would sell about 1.5-2 million consoles this holiday while 2.5-3 million consoles would be sold in international markets.

The Xbox One has seen resurgence despite an extra $100 price tag that raised all kinds of questions in the early going. The PS4 is $500 while the Xbox One is only listed as $400.

In other related news this week, it was revealed that there are some changes to the controller on the new Playstation platform. After the Dualshock 3 controller featured the analog face button, Sony shifted things up by making it all digital while getting rid of the analog. They also fixed the controller after realizing that the buttons on the older ones were not necessarily spaced evenly.

"Nobody noticed it," Sony's Toshimasa Aoki said. "Actually, when we were testing and laying it out, we said, 'Hey, the DualShock 3 isn't really the same distance there,'" he explained. "When we designed the DualShock 4, we wanted the touchpad to be in the middle and as large as possible but not enough to make the controller really big."
