Jennifer Aniston openly admits she and fiancé Justin Theroux have been actively trying to conceive their first child together.

In an exclusive, far-ranging interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 45-year-old Aniston shares the two are "definitely working on starting a family together. It's been a want. We're doing our best."

Even though the couple has yet to publicly declare a date for their nuptials, Aniston remains convinced her immediate future will be life-changing and quite satisfying.

"There's something bigger I'm interested in doing," she said. "It could be more work, it could be more creativity, or getting more philanthropic in the world. It can look like a baby. It can look like a foundation. I know I have a bigger purpose. It's a puzzle, and I haven't quite put the puzzle together. But something greater is calling out to me."

After initially announcing their engagement as far back as in 2012, the couple privately set a date late last year. The two met on the set of the 2012 film Wanderlust.

"Neither of them wants a huge, glitzy wedding," a source told The Reporter. Having been weeded to fellow Hollywood heavyweight Brad Pitt, Aniston has certainly lived the high-profile life before. Apparently, once was enough for the former Friends star.

"If you try asking, she'll change the subject," a source added of her attitude concerning her pending nuptials to Theroux. Meanwhile, the 43-year actor also appears to be keeping his bearings about himself.

"There is this hum of pressure that - I can't stress enough," Theroux reflected soon after news of the couple's engagement first became public more than two years ago. "I just don't pay any attention. We're just doing our own thing. We are completely happy, obviously, but we're not on anyone else's timeframe."
