Long gone are the days when the Xbox was known to have better graphics than the Playstation. Rumors are now suggesting that Call of Duty: Ghosts will run at a higher resolution on the PS4 than its Microsoft counterpart.

The popular video game will be running at 1080p on the PS4 -- this has apparently been confirmed -- but we are still unsure about the official details of how the game will run on the Xbox One. Rumor has it that the game will run at 720p on the Xbox One but that Microsoft is hoping to boost that to equal the resolution on the PS4.

Those at Microsoft have sidestepped the question at every opportunity. Microsoft's Albert Penello responded to the rumors on Twitter last week."I've seen COD: Ghosts running on Xbox One," he said in the tweet. "It looks f'n amazing. Wait for real footage, then judge for yourself."

It doesn't end there. Microsoft's Phil Spencer avoided the topic directly and instead shifted the blame for any resolution issues to the game developers instead of the platform, saying, "As first party I don't get builds of 3rd party games. I know what our 1st party games are doing."

The Playstation 4 game console will be released on Nov. 15 in the United States while the Xbox One will follow behind a week later with a Nov. 22 release date. The $399 PS4 has the price advantage early on while the Xbox One will cost $499. Analysts are predicting that each of the game consoles will ship around the 2.5 million units.
