For many Spanish-speaking Latinos, Don Francisco is what Saturdays are about. The Chilean host of "Sabado Gigante" will be given the Latinovator Award at Hispanicize 2015, according to Hispanicize Wire.

Don Francisco, whose real name is Mario Luis Kreutzberger, has been the host of the variety show for 52 years. The event will take place at Miami's InterContinental Hotel from March 16-20.

"For millions of Latinos, Saturdays always feel better knowing we will see Don Francisco and his wildly popular show Sabado Gigante on Univision," said Manny Ruiz, organizer and creative director of Hispanicize 2015. "Don Francisco is one of the most enduring and iconic Hispanic entertainers in the world, and we're thrilled to know he will join us to share the secrets of his incredible career."

This will be sixth annual Hispanicize event, and there will be three other prominent Latinos honored as Latinovators. Rita Moreno, Carlos Vives and Emilio Estefan have been given the award in the past.

Meanwhile, there were rumors that "Sabado Gigante" was being canceled, but it has been denied by the show's producer, Marcelo Amunategui, according to Publimetro.

"It's an absolute lie," he said. "It's a complete invention, just as there are many in the media today. It's lamentable because names and TV shows are used."

Amunategui went on to explain his disappointment with members of the media not checking if things are true.

"It's an ethical problem that exists today," he said. "Things are spread,  and no one takes precaution to verify it."

The producer said that Don Francisco is doing well and was recently in the Vatican to interview Michelle Obama.

"Sabado Gigante" started in Don Francisco's native Chile, but two years ago it stopped being shown on Canal 13 in the country. It continues to air in the United States and is filmed in Miami.
