"Independence Day" producer Roland Emmerich announced through Twitter on Tuesday, March 24, that Vivica A. Fox will be reprising her role in the upcoming "Independence Day 2" sequel, Entertainment Weekly reports.

That same day, Fox also confirmed the news on the Twitter.

Fox will once again be the sultry Jasmine Dubrow, a single mother who is also an exotic dancer and girlfriend to Will Smith's character, Steven Hiller.

And though Fox will be rejoining the cast, Will Smith will not, Variety reports.

The "Independence Day 2" cast will feature Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Jessie Usher as the son of Steven Hiller.

The sequel is set to hit theaters on June 24, 2016, nearly 20 years after the original movie. And 20th Century Fox is behind the follow up. Emmerich is on board the sequel as producer, alongside Dean Delvin and Harald Kloser. The script will be written by Carter Blanchard.

Prior to announcing her "Independence Day 2" news, Fox was seen as a celebrity contestant on Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice."

On the show, Fox and "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kenya Moore engaged in an ongoing argument about Moore allegedly stealing Fox's phone.

When confronting Moore about her stolen phone in the boardroom, Fox called the "Real Housewife" a "toxic trick" and told the Wrap that she stands by that statement.

"That came from the gut," Fox told the Wrap about her statement. "I don't use that language knowing I'm on television. She had it coming. It made it difficult for me, I'm a fighter," Fox said. "What makes a boss great is if they do care, and they're not a cold, lying thief."

Despite being fired from the show, Us Weekly notes that Fox was able to walk away with $50,000 for her charity, Best Buddies.
