Kelly Clarkson's newborn daughter played to rave reviews on the set of "American Idol" this week.

Appearing as a celebrity mentor for this season's final eight competitors, the first winner in the show's history brought along husband, Brandon Blackstock, and their newborn daughter, River Rose, for the experience. And the "Heartbeat Song" crooner was sure to document it all via social media.

Clarkson later took to Instagram to post pics of her family posing outside her "American Idol" dressing room. She captioned it, "My entourage outside my dressing room. Tune in Tonight."

And as if that wasn't enough, Clarkson stole the show in the eyes of many with her sparkling rendition of Etta James' classic "At Last." It's the same song Clarkson auditioned to for the show when she was a contestant in 2002.

The night was dedicated to the remaining contestants performing some of Clarkson's greatest tunes with her assistance. According to E! Online, Nick Fradiani sang "Catch My Breath," Jax performed "Beautiful Disaster," Tyanna Jones sang "Mr. Know It All," Joey Cook sang "Miss Independent," Quentin Alexander sang "Dark Side, Qaasim Middleton sang "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," Clark Beckham sang "The Trouble With Love Is," and Rayvon Owens sang "Since U Been Gone."

Hosted by Ryan Seacrest and with judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban, "American Idol" airs Wednesday night on Fox.

When she wasn't busy assessing and passing out advice, Clarkson spent at least part of the night admiring longtime idol Connick Jr. At one point, she teased him about being a "bad dad" when he revealed his young daughters are big fans of hers.

Later that night, the "Breakaway" singer also posted a picture online of her relaxing with the team of her judges. "Good to be home," she wrote in the caption.
